Abstract
The goal of this research is to shed light on the element of ‘solidarity’ which acts to support the development of creative industries, using as a case study the activities of the community businesses known collectively as Kamacon Valley in Kamakura City. In particular, this research argues the point that the ‘solidarity’ that drives the creative industries was born from community businesses like those of Kamacon Valley. Many of the chief actors in the creative industries that participate in Kamacon Valley are very conscious of their contributions to the city of Kamakura. An important factor in that has been the thorough-going discussion between participants in the Regular Conferences and Project that play a mediating role among the drivers of the creative industries.
