Abstract

Recently the Traditional Handicrafts are declining, and the industrial workers are changing their effort. It is assumed that their regional roles are changing in the traditional handicrafts locality. So the purpose of this study is to clarify the new their regional roles in Takaoka city, Toyama prefecture. By analyzing their new effort and activities about a young men’s association of the workers and some organizations, the followings are obtained regional roles.  1) They might increase the number of nonresident population, by external effort. 2) The association of the workers might create the chance that various people have a wide acquaintance. 3) The workers who move into Takaoka city as artists might be people who use vacant houses as their low-priced studios or houses.
