Abstract

A cyclic low-loading creep tester to measure dent depth has been developed for experimental analysis of instantaneous creep behavior and its recovery behavior. This paper describes an experiment result in which depth measurement of dent formed on the surface of soft samples using an air jet was obtained by cyclic loading and unloading of several times. It is confirmed that the skin gel depends on the instantaneous elastic deformation and the slime is dependent on both the instantaneous and delayed elastic deformation. When the recovery time become long and the load time is held, the envelope obtained from the slime is left from the creep load curve. On the other hand, the envelope tended to approach the creep load curve, when the loading time is lengthened and the recovery time is fixed.
