抄録

We report the first example of reduction of O2 to H2O by a Ni(II) dihydrido species. Isotope-labeling experiments reveal a four-electron reduction of O2 by the dihydrido species. The water-soluble Ni(II) dihydrido species was characterized by X-ray analysis, electrospray ionization mass spectrometry, and IR, 1H NMR, ESR, and UV–vis spectroscopies.
