Abstract

 This report discusses a numerical analysis of a reconstructed house with a strong tsuchikabe (wall made of a mixture of soil, water, sand, and straw) and an ordinary house with a tsuchikabe that simulates wattle. The authors intend to re-evaluate the usefulness of soil as a building material, not as part of a building meant for conservation, and use these results to promote the inheritance of the sakan craft.
