Abstract
There has been an increase in household-discharged PET bottles. PET bottles are collected by the municipalities at base-points or a lot of small stations near the households, and recently sometimes, in front of the house. A hearing investigation to all municipalities in Osaka Prefecture, and an empirical analysis on collected amount of the PET bottles and the collecting method of each municipality, undertaken. The findings show that municipalities can collect more PET bottles at stations than at base-points. This suggests that at base-point needs more discharging work for the consumers. In order to increase the quantity of collection, it is necessary for municipalities to collect at stations, or in front of the house, however this would require more expense burden for them. Based on this result, the improvement of the expense burden in the recycling law was examined.
