Abstract

<p>非定常短細線加熱法と磁気浮上技術を併用して卵白リゾチーム(hen egg-white lysozyme (HEWL))の結晶の熱伝導率と熱拡散率を計測することに成功した. 結晶を短細線表面に付着させるために磁気アルキメデス効果を用いて結晶を磁気浮上させながら気液界面で析出させた. そのため沈殿剤に塩化ガドリニウム(常磁性物質)を使用した. 結晶成長開始から14時間後の熱伝導率は0.410 W/(m·K), 熱拡散率は3.77 × 10<sup>-8</sup> m<sup>2</sup>/sであった. 20時間後の熱伝導率は0.438 W/(m·K),熱拡散率は5.18 × 10<sup>-8</sup> m<sup>2</sup>/sであった. 結晶化温度は17.2 °C,印加磁場(磁束密度)は4.0 T, HEWLとGdCl<sub>3</sub>の濃度は6.53 wt%および0.362 mol/kg, pHは3.30である.</p>

<p>By using simultaneously the magnetic levitation technique and the transient short hot wire method, thermal conductivity and diffusivity of hen egg-white lysozyme (HEWL) crystals were measured for the first time. In order to attach the HEWL crystals onto the wire, crystal growth was carried out at the air-liquid interface of the solution by the magneto-Archimedes effect. Gadolinium chloride (a paramagnetic subject) was used as a precipitant agent of crystallization. The thermal conductivity and diffusivity of the HEWL crystals at the applied magnetic field (<i>H</i>) of <i>μ</i><sub>0</sub><i>H</i> = 4.0 T and the temperature of 17.2 °C were determined to be 0.410 W/(m·K) and 3.77 × 10<sup>-8</sup> m<sup>2</sup>/s 14 h later from the start of the crystal growth, and 0.438 W/(m·K) and 5.18 × 10<sup>-8</sup> m<sup>2</sup>/s 20 h later, respectively. In this measurement, the concentrations of HEWL and GdCl<sub>3</sub> were 6.53 wt% and 0.362 mol/kg, respectively, and the pH was 3.30.</p>
