<p>Most game players want to improve their skills, but if they don't sense improvement they'll give up playing. So, we suggest a new way of dynamically adjusting a game's difficulty, in a way that is transparent to the player. In an experiment with a platforming game that focuses on jumping and hitting a target, players felt they were becoming better at the game instead of noticing the decrease in difficulty.</p>
