Abstract

北海道コムケ湖において,融雪に伴う湧水に着目した春季および夏季における流動解析を行い,干潟域を含む湖全体の水質変動特性について把握した.始めに,3次元流動解析により湧水を含むコムケ湖の再現計算を行い,湖内の塩分変化や溶存無機炭素濃度(DIC)と全アルカリ度(TA)の増減量から海水中CO<sub>2</sub>分圧を推定した.次に,干潟域および湖内全域に及ぼす湧水の影響について,湧水の有無による水質変化から検討を行った.湧水の影響により海水中CO<sub>2</sub>分圧の上昇が懸念されたが,塩分,DIC,TAの各挙動が互いに打ち消すように働いていることから,海水中CO<sub>2</sub>分圧の変動は限定的であることが示された.また,湧水自体がコムケ湖内全域へ及ぼす影響は,湖内の生物過程(光合成,呼吸・分解)による影響よりも約1/10程度未満のオーダーで小さいことが分かった.

 The awareness of coastal blue carbon is increasing, and the dynamics of the CO<sub>2</sub> fugacity (fCO<sub>2</sub>) in shallow coastal waters are becoming critical for evaluation of CO<sub>2</sub> fluxes. We carried out numerical computations using a three-dimensional environmental flow model including snowmelt-related groundwater discharge and estimated fCO<sub>2</sub> in water from salinity, biological metabolism, and calcification. Under the influence of the low salinity from the growndwater, fCO<sub>2</sub> in water was found to increase slightly as a result of the opposite effect of a decrease in fCO<sub>2</sub> with decreasing DIC and an increase in fCO<sub>2</sub> with decreasing TA.
