Abstract

This research attempted to incorporate equipment in trees for the purpose to get conscious of change of a wind or a season. It was to strengthen the environmental perception with transposing to other sensations, as the wind is perceived not with cutaneous sensation but with vision. In the rooftop gardening space in Tokyu Plaza Omotesando Harajuku, 383pieces of environmental perception equipment have been arranged united with various trees. The space was exhibited over seven days, in October 2014.The questionnaire survey which grasps the grade of visitors' environmental perception by the existence of equipment was conducted. As a result, it turned out that the "green" and the "season" were perceived stronger at the time of the experiment all day and night. In addition, the significant result was obtained in the daytime that the "wind" was perceived stronger. Even if not conscious of equipment itself, it has confirmed that it had been effective in perceiving circumference natural environment through the equipment.
