Abstract

In this study, we aim to clarify schedule constraints and factual travel behavior of families with nursery school toddlers by using two questionnaire surveys conducted in the Greater Tokyo Region and in Utsunomiya City. The surveys consist of factual persons who are in charge of nursery trips, consciousness toward nursery trips, and whatever decides spatio-temporal constraints such as locations, times and transportation modes. Both parents' feasibility of nursery trips was estimated under the theory of space-time prism and space-time path. Moreover, we analyze the relation between the feasibility and factual persons who are in charge as well as consciousness toward nursery trips, by regions and location patterns. In conclusion, we found that the feasibility and actual participation of nursery trips, and consciousness toward nursery trips varies according to the regions and location patterns.
