• Effect of Rotational Movement in Evaluating a Training Device for Human Balancing Control Capability

抄録

We found that when a human trained with parallel two-wheeled vehicles that was inadequately controlled, he compensated for control imperfections and eventually acquired higher dynamic balancing control capability. Since we believe that dynamic capability can be evaluated by examining learning processes, we developed a device through which dynamic capability can be evaluated and trained. In our previous study with a device whose movements are straightforwardly limited to front-back, leftright, or diagonal directions, we proposed training methods based on the device’s moving directions and examined the effectiveness of their generalization characteristics. In this study, we proposed a new training method based on rotational movement and examined its generalization characteristics by comparing it with conventional training methods. We also measured subject foot pressure and investigated the characteristics of front-back, left-right, and rotational training methods. We found that the rotational and left-right movements had generalization characteristics for training and similar foot pressure characteristics.
