Abstract

The Electron Light Source (ELS) is an artificial shower generator using an electron linear accelerator to perform the calibration for energy of ultra high energy cosmic rays (UHECRs) by the fluorescence detector (FD) in Telescope Array(TA) experiment. It shoots 40 MeV electrons into atmosphere 100 m away from the the FD in which air fluorescence light is detected from nitrogen molecule excitation by electrons. The ELS using artificial air shower can be also applied for other UHECR detector. We have plan to provide ELS to the prototype of JEM-EUSO and FAST telescopes, and antenna type telescope for Askaryan radio from ice target. We will report status of the ELS for the TA FD calibration and applications to other UHECR detectors.
