In this study, questionnaire-based survey was conducted for younger adults (n=108) on factors influencing the evacuation behavior in case of leakage of toxic gas. In addition, the means of transportation and informative way were investigated for effective evacuation guidance. Impeding factors for evacuation were then extracted through factor analysis. As a result, the five factors are labeled as follows: 1) environmental, 2) fear, 3) knowledge, 4) anxious about evacuation, 5) contents of information. The survey also revealed that automobile & motorcycle and TV & radio are considered to be the most suitable as the means of transportation and the informative way respectively.
