PARALLEL SUM OF UNBOUNDED POSITIVE OPERATORS

Abstract

<p>For invertible bounded positive operators <i>a, b </i>the operator <i>a </i>: <i>b </i>= (<i>a</i><sup>−1 </sup>+ <i>b</i><sup>−1</sup>)<sup>−1 </sup>is known as the parallel sum. In this article a theory of parallel sums of unbounded positive self-adjoint operators is developed.</p>
