Abstract

This paper aims to clarify the solution of converting vacant houses to guesthouse and focuses on the following three. (1) the method of vacant houses acquisition, (2) the repair method and space utilization patterns, (3) the method of income acquisition. As the result, it became clear that the manager of the guesthouses has reserved vacant houses through contact with an area community and has gathered cooperators to repair smoothly. After their guesthouses opening, the manager has utilized the spaces that isn’t used by daily life as guesthouses and has secured the sources of income besides the inn charge by the guesthouse management.
