Abstract

The genus Grypoceramerus was known only a species, G. acutus Suzuki and Aoki, 1970, from Japan. A redescription of the species is given based on five specimens collected from Fukuoka, Niigata and Kagoshima Prefectures. The differential characters from the original description were following, 1) bothridium with a triangular projection in posterolatelally part; 2) sensillus curved and with rigid spines 15-17 in number; 3) notogastral seta ti located anteriorly to seta ms; 4) notogastral setae p1, p2 and p3 a same as other notogastral setae in form; 5) epimeral seta 4c present; 6) epimeral setae 3b and 4c as same as 3c in form. The distribution area of the species in cooltemperate zone and warm-temperate zone in Japan, almost inhabited in litter, humus and soil material of forest.
