Abstract

カーボンナノチューブは電気的、熱的、多くの長点を持っているが、カーボンナノチューブ粉末は凝集しやすいので、溶媒で分散し難くなる。そして、本研究では、分散剤によるCNTsの分散と強い磁場を利用し、アルミナマトリックスに多層カーボンナノチューブが分散された複合材料を製造した。 アルミナマトリックス内において、磁場方向に沿って配向されたカーボンナノチューブが得られた。

Carbon nanotubes have received a large attention because of their extraordinary physical, thermal and mechanical properties. It is known that CNTs with high aspect ratios bundle easily, which can result in agglomeration of the solid particles or flocculation in solution. This work addresses the colloidal dispersion of CNTs and their alignment behavior under strong magnetic field in Al2O3 ceramics suspension. Commercially available multi-walled carbon nanotubes were used. A strong magnetic field of 12 T was also applied to the suspensions to control the alignment of the CNTs. The well-aligned Carbon nanotubes according to direction of magnetic field in the alumina matrix were obtained.
