Abstract

Since just before or after enforcement of the Soil Contamination Countermeasures Law in 2003, the local governments, which regulate a soil pollution problem with local laws and regulations, have increased. Consequently, the cases of the investigations and the countermeasures of soil pollution have increased, and their information disclosures have been followed. To support diagnosis and remediation of the pollution sites based on such public information synthetically, authors have studied and established the three fundamental databases, such as (1)contaminated site database, (2)remediation technology database, and (3)passed events database, and have integrated the advanced database system with those three databases. In this report, the database system is positioned as a "Knowledge Database Management System (KDBMS)", and its overview, the practical using method and its future prospect are reported and discussed. In the conclusions, the usefulness of the KDBMS and database creation of the public opened cases are proposed.
