- Development of the experimental model of CO<sub>2</sub> hydrate power generation system

<p>The development of distributed generation systems using renewable energy has advanced in Japan due to the influence of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear accident in March 2011. In this work, the power generation system using the unique change of state of CO2 hydrate is developed. Because the proposed system is not accompanied by combustion of a fossil fuel, it is a clean energy device. Furthermore, renewable energy, the open air, etc, can be used as the source of high temperature heat, and a low temperature heat source. In this study, we investigated the characteristics of the output of the proposed generation system by experimental model. As a result, maximum power output of 30W and total energy conversion efficiency of 2.68% were obtained.</p>
