Abstract

<p>The shoulder is very complex because it consists of the Sternoclavicular joint, Acromioclavicular joint and Glenohumeral joint. Therefore, the kinetic analysis of the shoulder was difficult. This study aimed to analyze the kinetics of the shoulder using the image matching method with image correlation. The subjects were ten healthy participants. We evaluated the shoulder kinematics during dynamic scapular plane full abduction and full axial rotation. In result, in the scapular plane full abduction, the largest displacement was an average of 97.9±3.0 deg adduction/abduction rotation. In the scapular plane external rotation, the largest displacement was an average of 113.6±11.1 deg internal/external rotation. The translational motion had a small displacement. In the scapular plane full abduction, the largest translation was an average of 5.1±1.7 mm anterior/posterior. In the scapular plane external rotation, the largest translation was an average of 4.1±1.8 mm superior/inferior. Our results showed that we were able to analyze in detail of both activities even if the Glenohumeral joint overlapped the bone. In the future, we want to obtain a new understanding by analyzing the diseased shoulder.</p>
