抄録

<p>This paper presents a global optimization method for topology optimization of frame structures. We suppose that candidate member cross-sections are predetermined, and attempt to minimize the compliance. It is known that this discrete optimization problem can be formulated as a mixed-integer linear programming problem. As an alternative formulation, in this paper we recast the problem as a mixed-integer second-order cone programming problem. The global optimal solution is found by using an existing solver based on a branch-and-cut method.</p>
