Abstract
In this paper, we propose a modeling method of traffic systems via the least squares method. This modeling approach is based on data obtained from a traffic simulator such as Traffic Software Integrated System (TSIS) supported by Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) in the USA. By this approach, we can take account of estimated errors and give a linear state-space model such that various control methods are applicable. Moreover, we show the effectiveness of the proposed method in comparison with the conventional method.
