Abstract

　English education will start in 2020 in Japanese elementary schools. As English is not used in daily lives in Japan, increasing the students’ motivation to learn English will be really important. It would be essential for pupils to nurture the concrete and strong purpose to learn it Intercultural exchange program using ICT devices would also be desirable to improve students’ motivation. Recently, ICT is used in the ficld of education in increasing number of Asian countries, and some countries invested a lot of money in education and ICT in education was implemented effectively. In CLIL lessons in Italy, teachers conducted various teaching methods using ICT. It will be expected for Japanese teachers to conduct English lessons using ICT effectively in elementary schools.
