Oxygen Reduction Reaction Activity and Stability of Electrochemically Deposited Bilirubin Oxidase

Abstract

<p>A technique for immobilizing enzyme on Au electrode was developed. The oxygen reduction reaction activity of electrochemically deposited enzymes was higher than that of physically adsorbed enzymes. Based on the electrochemical quartz crystal microbalance measurements, the higher ORR activity of electrochemically deposited enzymes could be attributed to the proper orientation of the enzymes. In addition, the electrochemically deposited enzymes exhibited high stability with respect to potential cycles.</p>
