Abstract
<p>In this paper, the simultaneous analysis of the form finding and the cutting pattern is shown by adopting the finite element technique with coordinates assumption of which the coordinate value is directly unknown quantity. The analysis model is membrane structures with cable reinforcement having difficulty in the simultaneous analysis. Our study adopts not a spline curve used well conventionally but Bézier curved surface to the decision of a cutting line. This analysis procedure is applied to a suspension membrane structure and a pneumatic membrane structure with cable reinforcement, and its effectiveness is confirmed from numerical results.</p>
