Abstract
<p>A new type of shoe with elastomer-embedded flexible joint (EEFJ) comprising a C-shaped EEFJ and an embedded elastomer was proposed herein. The EEFJ was designed to support the plantarflexion muscle moments and to move freely in the other direction.</p>
