抄録

Biodiesel is obtained by methyl esterification of triglycerides, but at the same time large amount of waste glycerol is produced. This glycerol can be esterified with fatty acid to obtain glycerol esters that can be used as anti-foam agent. In this study, we aimed to determine various parameters when oleic acid was used as the higher fatty acid and the temperature and residence time were changed at a mixing ratio of 1: 3. The values of density and surface tension of the obtained product were low in all experimental conditions, suggesting the possibility as an antifoaming agent.
