Abstract

交差点の平面幾何構造と交通制御を工夫し,右折車と対向直進車の交錯を減らすAlternative Intersections(以下,AI)と呼ばれる新しい交差点概念が海外にて提案されている.本研究ではAIが我が国でも交通制御の選択肢の1つになり得るという仮説のもと,適用に向けた知見を得ることを目的とする.日本に存在する交差点からAIの適用可能性があると考えられる交差点を選定し,観測データを基本入力値としたシミュレーションを用いてAIを仮想再現し,交差点処理性能評価を行った.また,従来型交差点と構造が大きく異なるAIを日本人ドライバーが迷いや違和感なく運転できるかどうかドライビングシミュレータを用いて検証した.その結果,我が国におけるAIの適用領域の目安を示し,日本人ドライバーにとってAIは工夫次第で受容性があることを明らかにした.

There are conflict points between through vehicles and right turn vehicles at grade intersections. Some countries, especially United States, propose and introduce Alternative Intersections (AI) which may offer additional benefits compared to conventional intersections. The objective in this study is to obtain knowledge for the applicability of AI in Japan. First, We selected intersections where AI is considered to be applicable from existing intersections in Japan and virtually reproduced AI using micro traffic simulation with observation data as basic input data and evaluated its performance. In addition, we evaluated whether Japanese drivers can drive through AI without hesitation and anxiety using driving simulator. As a result, we showed positive and negative reactions of Japanese drivers to AI which could be mitigated by careful design treatments.
