Abstract

Trip makers can choose various routes on large scale rail network in metropolitan area. In this research, we aim to describe route choice behavior with multi factors for trip purposes on the rail network in the Keihanshin urban area. As it is necessary to consider overlapping of various routes on large scale network, C-logit model is applied to describe route choice with overlapping. Therefore, the level of service for alternate routes as well as reported paths on the target large scale railway network can be estimated with the proposed method. As a result, the railway route choice model can be developed to take into account for the residual of fare considering multi-collinearity with line haul time and number of transfers.
