Abstract

While a growing number of studies on/of/by “Tojisha” [=minorities themselves/the party concerned] have been conducted in recent years, it is said that the concept “Tojisha” needs elaboration because it is often misunderstood or overused. By contrast, we propose conceptual analysis which is inspired by Wittgenstein and Ryle, introduced by Winch, and succeeded by ethnomethodology and Hacking. We point different relations between being “Tojisha” and membership categories, and analyze concept by describing practice.
