Abstract

<p>Recovery from devastating damage by natural disaster requires community reconstruction, while it is not enough to be paid attention to disappear local culture of those days. This paper is series of the process to develop of metholodogy for construction of pre-disaster recovery planning, and it aims a proposal of new workshop style for extracting spatial community memories with 1/2000 and 1/1000 spatial models case from Ena, Wakayama. The trial for collected local memories before disasters strike contributes to shape an aggregation of individual memories as a core of local context for a potential of community recovery. Five major categories are identified as key components in Ena through the participatory workshop.</p>
