Abstract
We showed that the observation accuracy and interval necessary for guaranteeing precision are different for each propagation characteristic of flood waves when computing with data assimilation introduced. In addition, we introduced a Peclet number, which represents the degree of deformation of flood waves, as an index to objectively evaluate them, and verified its effectiveness. As the calculation precision is lower, the relationship that the Peclet number becomes smaller becomes clear, It was suggested that it is possible to grasp the accuracy and interval of the observation required to guarantee the accuracy by Peclet number.
