- Effect of Cyclic Tensile Stimuli on Tissue Maturation of Myoblast-Gel Fibers
抄録

Regenerative medicine of myocardial tissue has attracted attention in treating heart disease. Reconstructing three-dimensional tissue using living cells could be a promising approach, however, the regenerated tissue exhibits a weak construction force due to the insufficient maturation of muscle tissue. The purpose of this study is to form mature myotubular tissue using C2C12 cells, a mouse skeletal muscle myoblast cell line, in vitro. In this study, we focused on cell orientation and mechanical stress. To control cellular orientation, the cells were contained in gel fibers. Cyclic stretch was used for tissue maturation to enlarge myotube cells. A device for applying tensile mechanical stimuli was developed and the cell fibers were cultivated with mechanical stimuli. As the results, the directions of myotubes were oriented and the mature myotubes could be formed by applying tensile stimulation.
