"Rebooting Memories": Generation of "FLOWING" and Inheritance of the Memories based on Colorized Photographs

Abstract

In this paper, we explain an activity to generate “FLOWING” in social media / real space by colorizing black-and-white photographs “stocked” in digital archives / society with AI technology. By visualizing the colors of the objects in the photographs, the “frozen” impressions of black-and-white photographs are “rebooted” and viewers can imagine the subjects of the photographs. Therefore, the past events get closer to the present daily lives and dialogues are triggered in social media / real space. The generated "FLOWING" arises emerging communications and enhances the value of information. This method will be one of the effective ways to help inherit precious materials and memories of past events in the future.
