Abstract

This review introduces flexible printed devices using mainly inorganic nanomaterials for the purpose of wearable and flexible health monitoring devices based on our recent progress at Osaka Prefecture University. By arranging the nanomaterial inks, we developed a strain sensor and a temperature sensor on a macro-scale flexible substrate using our printing techniques. Furthermore, their applications are also introduced as proof-of-concepts of printed flexible devices. Although there are still a lot of items to overcome the issues and challenges to achieve the integration of device systems on a flexible substrate, we believe that our contributions will help lead the field of wearable and flexible health monitoring devices.
