<p>We aimed to clarify the occurrence mechanism of pressure ulcers when rowing a wheelchair. Subjects wear an inertial sensor. A pressure sensor or a displacement sensor was installed on the wheelchair. The subject rowed a wheelchair. We were able to estimate the load of the butt when rowing a wheelchair. The cycle of rowing a wheelchair represents (1) to move the arm forward, (2) to move the arm backwards. At the time of (1), the buttocks are displaced forward and the buttock pressure drops. At the time of (2), the buttocks are displaced backward, the buttock pressure rises. It is considered that repetition of pressure and shear force is the cause of pressure ulcer.</p>
