Abstract

<p>The field generated research, which researchers enter the practice-site deeply and engage in long-term study to contribute to practice and collaboration with on-site people has come under the spotlight in the field of intercultural education recently.</p><p>This paper presents a framework to categorize the field generated research regarding intercultural education from the viewpoint of “degree and stance of participation” and “objects of information transmission and media”</p><p>The degree and stance of participation are divided into three categories:</p><p>a. Participation, pursuing of deep and long-term observations</p><p>b. Commitment, pursuing of practice site change with site collaborations</p><p>c. Advocacy, pursuing of social systems and structure renovations</p><p>The objects of information transmission and media are divided into three categories:</p><p>d. Academic papers and books for researchers</p><p>e. Information provided to contribute the practice site</p><p>f. Advocacy to the community and society as a whole</p><p>The research of three presenters was analyzed from this framework and an example was introduced as of advocacy oriented research.</p>
