- Real-time 3D Pose Estimation by RGB-D Camera and Its Evaluation

<p>As the opportunity of interactions between human and robot increases, real-time human 3D pose estimation technique is required for robot to act adaptively to human motion. Marker-less motion capturing systems such as Kinect, sometimes miss and incorrectly estimates 3D pose when the joint-points are in a specific pose, for instance, crossed arms due to the difficulty of division of each body parts. We describe a method of real-time 3D pose estimation using a RGB-D camera and an image-based 2D pose estimation technique and evaluate its accuracy with a wearable motion capture system as ground truth in the laboratorial and daily scenes.</p>
