Abstract
<p>Collective syntheses of two natural products on the basis of their biosynthetic proposals are described. Chaxines, steroidal natural products isolated from a mushroom, were synthesized from ergosterol in 7 steps by photo-induced electrocyclic reaction and Baeyer-Villiger reaction as key steps. Oscillatoxin D and its related compounds isolated from marine cyanobacteria were synthesized by cyclization of the spiroether structure from a common intermediate possessing the dihydropyrone structure. Biologocal evaluation of the compounds obtained by these two collective syntheses revealed the unique biological activities respectively.</p>
