- Mechanical property evaluation of FDM parts using PLA resin
抄録

3D printers can be designed and modeled directly without creating molds, reducing manufacturing time and costs. Therefore, it is attracting attention as a convenient processing machine on the manufacturing process. PLA, a material for 3D printing is plant-derived resin material that biodegradability and carbon neural properties and is expected as alternative material of ABS that highly versatile in industrial products. However, it has lower mechanical properties than ABS. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of laminating temperature and fill density on the mechanical properties of PLA by using 3D printing technology that can set various fabrication conditions. Radial crushing strength test and friction test were performed using PLA, and the effects of laminating temperature and anisotropy were investigated. It was found that the strength increases as the laminating temperature rises. However, if the temperature rises too much, the strength will decrease. It was also found that the FDM model has anisotropy, and the higher the packing density, the higher the strength and the less the influence of the anisotropy.
