Abstract

我々の研究グループでは，異なる品質で同じビデオの配信を要求する多数のユーザへのビデオ配信をP2Pネットワークにおける各ピアでトランスコードと中継を行うことで実現する方式MTcastを提案してきた.本稿では，PlanetLab上で動作するMTcastのプロトタイプを作成し，評価実験を行った結果を報告する. PlanetLab上の世界各国の20のノードを用いて，ビデオ配信時のスタートアップ遅延とノード離脱時の振る舞いについて調査した結果，実用上十分な性能が達成されることを確かめた.

We have already proposed a P2P video delivery method called MTcast for simultaneously delivering video to users with different quality requirements. MTcast makes each user node transcode and forward video to other user nodes. In this paper，we report the results of performance evaluation of our method in the real internet environment. We have developed a prototype system and conducted experiments on 20 PlanetLab nodes. We evaluated startup delay and behavior when a user node abruptly leaves，and confirmed that MCast achieves practical performance in a real environment.
