Abstract

本研究は，デジタル化された過去の写真資料とGISを用いて，近現代京都の景観復原を試みるものである．近年，写真資料（古写真）のデジタルアーカイブが，民俗学や歴史学を中心に重要視されるようになり，GISやVRを用いた近年の景観復原に関する研究においても重要な資料と位置づけられている，個人の所有する古写真を用いて地図化や視覚化を行うことで，地域住民等からボランタリーに提供された情報が「地域知」として研究に活用される一方，継続性をもった研究成果の発信についての検討も必要である．そこで，無償かつオープンなGISソフトウェアを用いた発信方法についても検討することによって，古写真が地域資料として適切に保存・発信されることを目指したい．

This paper explores some possibilities in landscape restoration of Kyoto in the first half of the 20th Century by using digitalized old photography and GIS. Realizing importance of digital archives of the photographs, folklorists and historians have recently come to regard them as important materials for landscape restoration with GIS and VR. Mapping and visualization that include privately-owned photographs make it possible to use "local knowledge" voluntarily offered for the landscape restoration research in the future. Yet, this, in turn, urges researchers to publicize their research outcomes continuously. This study suggests some ways to solve this problem by using free and open source GIS software, as well as to preserve local resources of old photography and make it available to the general public.
