抄録

日本の歴史的地名データベースによって、どのようなことが明らかになるだろうか。吉田東伍が独力で1895年に完成させた日本初の総合的地誌『大日本地名辞書』に基づく地名データベース（桶谷猪久男氏との共同作成）によって考えてみたい。

What kind of thing will be clear by the historical Japanese place-names database?I will explain the Digital Gazetteer that I and Pro.OKETANI have been creating and developing. It is based Dainihon Chimeijisho (The Dictionary of Place Names in Greater Japan) ,what was compiled by Togo Yoshida, who realized that there were no standard dictionaries for place names in Japan and decided to edit one in 1895.
