Synthesis of AIPO<sub>4</sub>‐5 aluminumphosphate molecular sieve crystals for membrane applications by microwave heating**

<jats:p><jats:bold>Aluminum phosphate molecular sieves</jats:bold> with well‐shaped hexagonal column‐like morpholgoy (see Figure) have been produced by applying microwave heating to a gel. The crystals are effective materials for application in one‐dimensional membranes for molecular sieving. As can be seen in the figure, crystals containing a central tubular void can also be produced <jats:boxed-text content-type="graphic" position="anchor"><jats:graphic xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" mimetype="image/gif" position="anchor" specific-use="enlarged-web-image" xlink:href="graphic/must001.gif"><jats:alt-text>magnified image</jats:alt-text></jats:graphic></jats:boxed-text>.</jats:p>
