Diffraction pattern and structure of molten BeF2–LiF solutions

X-ray diffraction data on the liquid systems (BeF2)x(LiF)(1−x), with x = 1, 1/2, 1/3, 1/5, and 0, are presented and analyzed to yield average nearest-neighbor distances and coordination numbers. The values obtained for the melts are in good agreement with results derived from molecular dynamics calculations.
