RLSQ: <i>T</i><sub>1</sub>, <i>T</i><sub>2</sub>, and ρ calculations, combining ratios and least squares

<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title><jats:p>A method is proposed for calculating images of spin density <jats:italic>p</jats:italic> and relaxation times <jats:italic>T</jats:italic><jats:sub>1</jats:sub> <jats:italic>T</jats:italic><jats:sub>2</jats:sub> from MR imaging sequencies with the following characteristics: <jats:list list-type="explicit-label"> <jats:list-item><jats:p>it avoids nonlinear iterative techniques and is consequently sufficiently fast to allow calculation of<jats:italic>p</jats:italic>, <jats:italic>T</jats:italic><jats:sub>1</jats:sub> and T<jats:sub>2</jats:sub> on a pixel by pixel basis routinely;</jats:p></jats:list-item> <jats:list-item><jats:p>it uses all available data simultaneously in an approximately optimal fashion.</jats:p></jats:list-item> </jats:list></jats:p><jats:p>The method is applied to the combined SE + IR sequence but can be used for other acquisition Schemes as Well. © Academic Press, Inc.</jats:p>
