抄録

An attempt at nutrition and health education for freshmen of undergraduates at an university was made using a dietary diagnostic test. Students were required to record all the food items taken in one week and to calculate their own score from the records according to the method of the test.<br>Average scores per student (number=294) was 34 for breakfast, 50 for lunch and 59 for supper; they were far below the recommended value at 75.<br>Students who thought they were not healthy got lower scores for the supper and for sum of three meals than those who thought they were healthy.<br>The study indicates that many of the students became interested in their meals as they became aware of the problems in their dietary life.
