抄録

This paper presents two new methods for luminous color control of the discharge lamps, that is, the pulse method and the polarity exchanging method.<BR>In the pulse method, luminous color of the positive column can be continuously changed by means of varying the pulse width, the applied voltage or the frequency.<BR>The porality exchanging method utilizes different luminous color of the positive column and the negative glow and may be applied to the 2-color display panel lamps.<BR>Experimental results obtained by use of the trial lamps are reported and practical applications of the methods are discussed.
