Abstract

Polyurethanes bearing bisphenol-S (BPS) structure were prepared by polyaddition of various diisocyanates and diols (BPSm) prepared from BPS and chloroalkanols. The polyurethanes, whose inherent viscosities range from 0.33 to 0.59 dL/g, were obtained in moderate to high yields (60-90%). Owing to the thermally stable BPS structure, these polyurethanes exhibited relatively high thermal stability extending to 365°C. The polyurethane prepared from triethyleneglycol diisocyanate and BPS6 has a wide rubbery plateau region extending from -1 to 120°Cand a good vibration absorbing characteristic.
